Mike Jones from Summerfield, N.C. with a four foot Barracuda that tried to steal a big Spanish Mackerel. After 3 trips around the boat we got him in for a picture and then released.

Six year old Alex Abicht of Canada shows off a 21 inch sheephead he landed using a light spinning rod and shrimp. He was fishing with his father Walter, and Capt. Lindy about 5 miles off of Bonita Beach when he got this whopper.

Bob Stalone from New York with a 40 inch Cobia that took a pin fish at the Wiggins 5 mile reef. The bottom fishing was slow but managed to get several Lane Snapper. The Spanish Mackerel are moving in. Boated a 26 incher on a silver spoon and had several good strikes. Only made a few casts with the spoon. Probably get the limit of 15 if you were to target them. We also caught and released 4 Gray Reef Sharks in the 40 to 45 inch range and a 5 foot Bull Shark.

Dwight Baker Holds a Black Tip Shark that took a live blue runner about 3 miles off Bonita Beach. This shark is headed for the grill. Chris Gilles (left) and Steve Bambauer (right) both caught and released sharks as well. Steve was the Mangrove Snapper King with his limit of 5 fish, all between 12 and 14 inches. Steve also caught a 29 inch Red Fish that was released in good condition.

Kevin Geiger From St. Louis, Mo. holds a 26 inch Red Fish he caught under the Mangroves in Hickory Bay. Earlier that day in the Gulf, Art Johnson (left) Showed um how it was done when he caught 7 big Spanish Mackerel on 7 casts. Jim the Shark (right) brought a 5 foot Black Tip to the boat that took a Blue Runner on a flat line. The fight lasted over 20 minuets and took him around the boat several times. We released the Shark.

Michael (10) and Glen Lazerus with a Cobia caught at the Clam Pass 3 mile reef. Earlier they caught and released 3 reef Sharks each that were 3 to 4 feet long. They also had several big Spanish Mackerel to the boat but the Captain lost them swinging them in.

Buck Yow from Greensboro, N.C. with a 52 inch king Mackerel that took a thread herring at the Wiggins 5 mile reef.

Smaller Kings and Spanish Mackerel as well as 3 to 4 foot reef Sharks were abundant all week. The big Barracuda are moving in, making it hard to get a Spanish Mackerel to the boat in whole condition. This week's bait of choice is a lively thread herring.

Bobby McMorrow with a King Mackerel that took a live grunt only a half mile off Vanderbilt Beach. Kings like this are an unbelievable fight on ultra light spinning tackle. We also picked up a couple of Spanish Mackerel. We moved in to the backwaters for protection when the wind shifted to south. One drift across Hickory Bay produced an 18 inch Sea Trout, several Lady Fish and Crevelle Jacks.

Conner Lahen, 10, with a 16 inch Sheepshead he pulled from the rocks at the Wiggins 3 mile Reef. Conner was fishing with his dad, Steve Lahen, and John Coby, all from Wisconsin. They brought home 8 Sheepshead from 14 to 19 inches, a dozen Spanish Mackerel and several Mangrove Snapper.
